Great Grandmother Mallie has been an Artistic Inspiration to
family members for many generations.
Here are a few examples of her efforts... there are many thousands to pick from.
Great Grandmother Mallie also works with camera images and produces some of her art from the pictures that she takes of the world around us.
Then...
There are her "Doodles"...
Sometimes GGM Mallie will make sample drawings of the same thing over and over
until she gets what she is going for.
Below you can see that she began with limbs, then bushes and trees.
Through this process she eventually arrives at the goal, in this case, her pen
and ink drawing of the "Our Kimbrell Roots" tree.

G-G-M Mallie has inspired her children and grandchildren to produce art as well, here are a couple of samples.
This
"Kimbrell Family Crest" was designed and drawn by Brother Lee Kimbrell and is a
very innovative and true-to-life representation of our family.
In the upper right portion of the Shield you can see symbols drawn for an
artist's brush (no explanation really needed on that one), a stalk of grain (we
grew up as farmers, growing much of our own food) and a welder's 'stinger' with
welding rod.
That last part requires special attention because we five Kimbrell Brothers,
sons of GGM Mallie, grew up over a wide span of years because of the great age
difference between us... but even though there was no conscious effort on the
part of us as a group to coordinate our professional lives and even though we
lived hundreds/thousands of miles apart for a time, still... as it turns out,
all five of us worked as welders at some point during our working life!
Grandson Steven Kimbrell drew this stylish and 'telling' picture
of his older Brother James...
We in the family can see the resemblance very well indeed.
