The very first thing we needed to do in the garage was to get some concrete in to cover the dirt floor that it had. Here's a few photos of the work inside the space... my shop ends up being about 900sf and the P/U truck can still be pulled in at night. There will be a wall between the first bay and the other two spaces (WW Shop)... the first bay will be for GrandMa Kay's car.

We continue to use the temporary setup in the garage as my woodworking shop, most of the work that goes on there is the work we do on the lumber that will be used for the siding project.
Here are a few current pix.
The table saw is setup to cut a dado (notch) on one edge of the
1"x6" boards so that when
they are installed as siding they only reveal ½ of their
thickness... that way the 'look' of the
new boards matches the existing, original siding on rest of the house.
(???Should I have bought wood that was
½" thick instead of 1" ???)
When you think about this it may seem to be a
waste of the wood, but this wood came directly from a local
sawmill and the cost for the 1" thick boards was much cheaper that
½" thick because of the process of
cutting...
so a little extra work for me, but less cost.
We have added a few more tools:

Temporary Setup
This 'temporary setup' will be the workshop
while we complete the siding on the garage and part of the house, plus a few
other projects that must come after the siding.
The floor has a sealer on it now, but we must wait until it has cured for 3
months before the Epoxy Floor Paint can be applied...
so it will get the paint when we do the electrical, insulation, air & sheetrock.

The
Contractor
He arrives with his helper to prep garage floor in the soon to be WoodWorking Shop.
The trench they are working on will be used to run utilities below the floor
when needed, my table saw will sit out in the middle of the space so having the
electrical connections and dust collection piping under the floor will
make it much easier to move around within the shop. Using a trench will make it
much easier to change the layout if desired... if the utilities were just
concreted over no location changes would be possible unless new utilities were
installed.

The
Concrete Truck
Shows up to pour the new floor.
It took two loads... it's a big room!

It's In!
The pour was completed about 2 hours before this photo, it's starting to take shape, but still needs some finish work. It will receive a 'broom' style finish and will be painted a light grey using garage floor paint after it cures enough to take paint.
