Up in Smoke!

Up in Smoke
Or… Jeanie & Theo’s Big Fire

[/url]

Our next door neighbors, Theodore and Jennie, have this really old building that has served many functions at various times down through the years including as a train station, a general store, post office, church and as a family home. In recent years it has fallen into disuse and disrepair and so they, Jennie and Theodore, had begun the task of taking it down. Then in June 2013 our local fire department, Old Richmond Volunteer Fire Department asked if they could use the building for training and of course Jennie and Theodore said yes.

It has taken until now for all of the permitting and scheduling issues to be resolved and so today, 2/1/2014, at about 8:30 AM they were finally able to get started and you just know that we had to watch and take a few pictures! (...more in the Album.)
Plus a little video.  :hah!:

We would like to thank all of the Firefighters of ORFD for their courageous work and their safety practices during this exercise… as far as we know there were no injuries during the entire process. It lasted all morning… about 3-4 hours. ( it was so interesting that I lost track)

Looks like a total loss Ken.  The first thing I thought of when I saw the subject of this topic was Cheech & Chong.  You and Kay didn't get high from that smoke did you? :whistle1:
