Alf and the Tortoise
« on: August 10, 2016, 08:25:33 AM »
Most early AM's I go for a bit of a walk on our newly paved road, just trying to pump a little life back into the old legs doncha know. :)

On some days our cat Alf will tag along and he usually lags well behind, but today he was keeping up rather well and so together we discovered a new adventure when we came upon a small (3-4 in) Tortoise. Now normally Alf is a catch and release kind of guy, meaning that he frequently catches examples of the local wildlife, like birds, rabbets, moles, snakes (yes, snakes) and brings then into the house and releases them for the dogs to play with.
This tortoise was a bit beyond his reach though... so, after a thorough investigation he decided that my beat up old tennis was more fun.  laughing7

After we finished our inspection of the tortoise we resumed our walk
with Alf once again in his customary position about 50-100 yards in arrears.

Seems like a good start to a great day. hahahaha!

Nice pics! I was thinking of taking a walk myself this morning but it's a bit muggy already! It will be pretty hot and rainy over the weekend but I have to days off from work. So, either I'll be in the kitchen cooking something or playing PC games. LOL
