A panade is a mix of sometype of bread and a liquid mixed together to help keep things moist like meatloaf, burgers, etc. Here a great article on it. :)

Sounds like a handy thing to have by the stove. One recipe they show is for Swedish meatballs in a milk style gravy, Kay made something like this a few evenings ago and it were good.  :)
