Themes & Packages
« on: February 02, 2014, 11:00:37 AM »
When I reloaded and restarted the FamilyForum I used a fresh new copy of the SMF forum software and the last database copy that was available to me and it was from December, 2012. So, with a database that was over a year old and brand new forum software things are a little messed up with old themes and packages that the database is trying to see that are not actually installed yet.

So, with the error log filling up with all those conflicts I'm thinking a list to work from might be helpful.

Themes:
  • 'WorkDesk3 design by BlocWebDesign' is our current forum default theme and it seems to be working OK.
... I still need to find the PSD file for WorkDesk3 and make up a nice forum name image.
  • Argentum2 © Bloc
... Users online today not working... it is working in all other themes.

Packages:
  • Spoiler Tag
... so far it's not working, need to track down a version that is current with SMF 2.0.7
  • Birthday Posts
... the birthday posts seem to be working correctly, it just posted for jessica walker
  • tinypic
... 'tinypic' back in the post form

... still working on this post.

Yes, I saw the theme errors...Bloc may be able to help with those.

User's Online has always been problematic. :P

Ken,

On the mini-calendar, in http://www.ourfamilyforum.org/Themes/workdesk3_smf202/css/index.css?fin20

Code: (Change This ...) [Select]
/* Alternating backgrounds for posts, and several other sections of the forum. */
.windowbg, #preview_body{
color: #555;
background-color: #f0f0f0;
padding: 0 8px;
}

Code: (... To This) [Select]
/* Alternating backgrounds for posts, and several other sections of the forum. */
.windowbg, #preview_body{
color: #555;
background-color: #f0f0f0;
padding: 0 0.5px;
}

The padding is what needs to be lowered.  The real problem is that the left panel is really too narrow but this may work.  If you can check a higher resolution than 1280 X 800, which is what I looked at this with, it might be worthwhile.  Bloc's themes have a lot of extra stuff in them.

... Users online today not working.

Part of the problem with that Mod is that you have version 1.5.6 installed, I think.  The latest version of the Mod is 2.03 (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=217).  I would suggest uninstalling and removing the old version and installing the latest version.  When you install it, make sure you look down at the bottom and tell the Mod to install on this theme because I think this theme probably has a BoardIndex.template.php which the Mod needs to edit to make it work properly with this theme.  Oh, and don't forget to backup first.  This Mod only edits 2 files.

Good call on the code Jim.   :thumbup:
I had increased the panel width to 225px but that didn't help, but after your code the calendar displays correctly even after I set the width back to 200px.

Well, it's still going to be too narrow if someone has a long user name but it's much better than it was, for sure. :2cool!!

OK, the Users Online 2.0.3 is installed.

Did that fix the problem you were having?  I don't know what problem you were having with it.

It was working in the WorkDesk3 theme and all other themes (still is after the update) but not in the Argentum2 theme (still not after update to 2.0.3).

It's not that big of a deal now that it's been updated because it works in WorkDesk3 and that's our forum default.

OK, it's back to 225px. Do you think that's enough, or should we set it to a wider value?
