Cicely Tyson, Groundbreaking Screen and Broadway Actress, Dies at 96. Cicely Tyson made history in 2018 as the first Black woman to win an honorary Oscar.

Throughout the years she played in many films and TV shows that I watched and loved. In TV she was famously in Roots, of course, but also in so many more TV shows where she would come in for an episode or two and sometimes longer and she was always so very good. And lots of movies and no matter how big or small the role, she was always good.

R.I.P. Cicely Tyson.
We will miss you.
