How can I do the degree symbol on my keyboard?

Hold down the "Alt" on your keyboard and type the numbers 0176 while you're holding down that key, when you release the Alt key the degrees symbol will appear like I've done here:

128?

I know it sounds bizarre but it works for that and loads of other symbols. There's a page telling you all the symbols plus their Alt numbers here:

You can also get the degree symbol by holding the ALT key and typing 248. ;)

Just discovered that on my laptop this only works if the side number keys are used.. using the number keys at the top of the keyboard produces no result.

111   ... result using the numbers at the top of keyroard.
111∟ ... this is the result when your numbers are used Steve.
111?   ... the result using my numbers.

That's correct. I neglected to mention that you have to use the keypad. LOL

? - with your numbers

? - with my numbers

Could be a difference in the keyboard themselves (dorvak vs. qwerty) or keyboard mapping. Plus, you can switch them:

If you are on a laptop it could be totally different due to mapping. On, Lealer's lappy I can't refresh the screen with F5 or ctrl+F5. The function keys are used for sounds, brightness, etc. and she doesn't even have a keypad. :P

Laptop vs. desktop is likely the reason for the differences.
