Title: KitchenCalc 8300 Recipe Calculator
Post by: Skhilled on January 19, 2017, 08:42:13 AM
I often find a lot of recipes I'd like to try but are made to feed a crowd when I only need to feed 3-4 people! It can be very difficult and time-consuming to scale down (or up) a recipe for your needs. But I saw an ad in the current issue of Fine Cooking Magazine for:

http://calculated.com

At the website, you can buy all kinds of calculators for specific tasks. The KitchenCalc can do 146 conversions! However, it's a little cheaper at amazon.com.  :azn:

They have  pro and standard versions. The pro has 2 times and a larger display.

Sounds like a useful tool for someone who follows a recipe, but for Kay's style it would have no value.

... she will typically read a recipe and then just wing it!  laughing7

I tend to do the same but for some recipes it a bit trickier depending on the technique or ingredients used. So, I'll get one and see how it goes. I've read there is a learning curve but I think I'll be fine.  :D
