Race Relations in the AAF During World War II

Through the years I've read a lots of articles/books/essays on the history of the Second World War and on Black History as well and a few articles that cover the history of race relations during WWII, but I think this small book goes more to the heart of this story than anything that I've read before.
Steve Hill (Skhilled) was kind enough to gift me a copy a couple of weeks back and I promised him a book review, thus this report.

The short (60 pages) little volume is a quick read and for me it was a few minutes (maybe a couple of hours altogether) here and there over about three days including re-reading some chapters and passages. I found it to be a well written and very detailed accounting of the state of race relations before, during and a little after the WWII time period. Someone who is not really interested in the subject might find this book to be a little tedious because it is jam packed with detail. The jam packed part is why I reread some portions more than once while trying to make sure I understood the point that the author was making.
All in all it is a very informative and well written small volume and if you are at all interested in the history of WWII, African American/Black history or the history of Blacks in the AAF (Army Air Force) then you should read this book.

Excellent and well thought out review! You should be on Siskel and Ebert! LOL
