I was on the TP.uk site today and got a PM from Crip~ (Jeff (http://www.ourfamilyforum.org/FamilyForum/index.php?action=profile;u=193)) and he was suggesting that we get together on the phone because he wanted to check out the new Gmail phone app. Well we had a great conversation and talked for a good long while, it was fun and we both enjoyed the talk.
We got to thinking during the conversation that we've known each other for several years now and this is the first time that we've talked in 'RL' on the phone and that we should have done this long ago and often. :08:
Prior to today the only other TinyPortal Team member that I've talked to in RL is Les and he and I do Skype about once a month or so... if I remember to turn it on. :up2some:
So, here's the challenge... send me a PM with your Skype name and/or your phone number and we'll try to set something up. :2thumbs:

I planned on trying the gmail phone app. That's the one that also does video chat?

I've installed skype, but most of the time when I have it on is at work where I don't have a video cam or mic. I'll send my skype and gmail to you Ken.

There should be a notice... is your Skype name listed as 'bradgrow'? That name shows as being in Salt Lake so I thought it was you.
You should be able to run mine as 'ken_kimbrell' or 'Ken Kimbrell' and I should show as being in Tobaccoville.

Yeah, I don't spend enough time with it to know all the details of how to use it.

Hey Everyone!
We're trying to set up for an open mike Skype voice chat this evening between 6:00PM-9:00PM Eastern Standard Time! :2thumbs:
My Skype will be on during that time and so far it's looking like IchBin? and Les will be also. I'm not totally sure about how many users can be in the same chat, I had thought that the limit was 20, if that's an accurate number then that will be plenty of spots for us.
Please note that some members may, or may not be on at any given time, but I will try to have mine on for most of the three hours.
If you have Skype, but are not on my list you can add me with 'ken_kimbrell' and you can post your Skype name in this topic if you wish.

I'd love specking with each of you at any other nite \ time than this night , Mothers Birthday is today and , i feel kind of down\sad...
The other family members have been to the Graveyard taking flowers , notes , and watching videos of good times with mom .... but not me.

On a regular night I gotta go to bed for TV @ 7--7.30 pm EST .. I get out of bed and shower when Whoever shows up , I never know who?
Life is a bitch then ya die..

Sorry to hear that you're having a rough day today. I know that you miss your Mom a lot.
We'll most likely do another one of these in a week or two and you can join in with us then if you want to, but for now you need to honor your Moms.

And, we'll need to open a topic for the chat several days in advance so that anyone who is interested will have a chance to be ready for the chat.

I don't currently have it but have tried it when it first came out for awhile some years ago. I do plan on getting it again. I was just looking at a new Logitec video cam yesterday. Am going to research them first to see which one is right for me first. Might buy one later today.

I've been so busy all week that I haven't had a chance to check it out yet. I'll still download it as well as skype. A few other people I know have said that they were using it so I'll have to give it a go.

Have not tried the video chat thingie with Gmail, but did try the PC to phone part and it works nicely, so if you wanted to use it for the free calls it should work well. Gmail has some really nice features, but my thinking so far is that my choice will be to stay with Skype.

I don't have the same email that I used when I first registered. That was some years ago when Skype was totally free. :P So, I had to create a new one because I was trying to help someone fix their site yesterday after a bad hacking and didn't have the time to wait for support to change my email for me.

I finally got skype to work. Had issues (I guess) cause I had other programs running at the same time. It would just close on me without saying why. It was working for me before but I believe that I had no other programs running at that time. I think when running games (or certain games/memory intensive programs) it will not boot properly.
Finally added you guys. :P
