Greetings Team!
We'll use this topic for an 'official' roll-call and welcome thread for our BaseCamp Trekkers as they show up for the Trek that's scheduled for here on Our FamilyForum and will start on November 23rd and run through December 5th. We can expect lots of activity during that two week period here in the Team boards and in our points production.
As each Trekker signs up I'll keep the list of names in this OP updated, plus we can post a welcome message for each of them as desired. Replies in this topic are welcome of course, but we'll have another topic for the random chit-chat that Trekkers love to engage in. :08:

I'm sanitizing the 'Books' and getting them ready for next Thursday...Les are you going crunch as FF or as a BCer the points all go to the FF team, it's just a BC Stats thing...any other Quirks I should think about, regarding the BC roster???
Sujo...I'm on top of it!!!!!!
-
Les are you going crunch as FF or as a BCer the points all go to the FF team, it's just a BC Stats thing...
Not quite sure what you mean Keith, I didn't know there was difference!
-
Hmmm............ I posted a reply to sujo1 before I went off to work this morning and it appears to have vaporized. :opps:
Have some pizza and a brew or three sujo and watch out for that pesky bear. :pizza: :chug: :chug: :chug: :chug:
-
Les...there really isn't difference; I just keep track of what BC does and how much they help the Host... on this one I'll list Ken and LW in my books ...but ALL points for WCG go to the FF team...It can get complicated!!! Where it makes a difference is if you should follow us to another trek. There I would check if you have registered @ BC and therefore A BC trekker or just another new member at that team....dl1000v comes under that category for this trek...unless I hear different dl1Kv has no affiliation with BaseCamp
BTW guys ...nice layout on the boards ...easy to read and not too busy
-
In other words unless you register with Base Camp you are batting for the home team. :bigthumb:
-
Les are you going crunch as FF or as a BCer the points all go to the FF team, it's just a BC Stats thing...
Not quite sure what you mean Keith, I didn't know there was difference!
Les, the way it is now is this; you're on the FF team so you don't need to do anything other than what you are already doing. If at some point in the future you decide that you want to become a BC'er we can give you the links to read up on how that works.
For now you're good just the way you are. :bigthumb:
EDIT: I'll try to catch you on Skype and explain all the details.
-
I guess that's a no!! technically ...Ken an LW should be FF but they have crunched BC before ...
BaseCamp is a group that are now a part of FF individually...but we keep track of what we do as a group
With SeriousCrunchers...most are BC ...I grant credit if we trek @ SC.....don't worry about it Les
@ BigFoot... did you get my PM???...Share with LW
-
Just got it... sorry for the delay in replying, I've been working on some stuff and missed it. :bigcheese:
-
Technically my home team is PCHF so here I'm a Base Camper or a friend stopping by to crunch. :08:
That's provided one can be viewed as having a home team when they're on the road all the time.
-
I hope you guys don't mind if I immitate your Forum layout. I am having all sorts of problems with my own forum (even the backup is corrupt, pphBB) and need to start afresh. Luckily as my team is only new I was the only poster to date therefore not much loss... :angle2:
-
Pete, if your forum has very little content then it would indeed be a good time to think in another direction. The software that we use here is SMF (it's free) and TinyPortal and some of our FF members and me are on the TP support team so we'll be able to point you in the right direction should you need assistance. :disted:
I've gotta sign off now, but if you are interested or have questions just let me know and I'll try to help tomorrow.
-
BaseCamp...here's the deal.
Sujo contacted me a week or so ago explaining that he would be MIA for the first week of FF trek ( daughter getting married ..a funeral or something)
and asked me if I would accommodate him starting a week early / dismiss the first week/ and let him come back onboard the 2nd week ... I agreed that I can do this in the Stats ...several different ways ........This is a one off and I can handle it
Point is if you happen spot some freaky stuff regarding Sujo1 stats.....I have it under control...the bottom line will be right!!!!!
( I just finished the rewrite of the books ...I impressed myself!!!!!!)
-
You mean you had doubts about your abilities? :2funny:
I have every confidence. :bigthumb: riteon
-
This set of books is COOL!!!! will look the same to you ; but on my end ...AWESOME!!!!!!

welcome2 to Our Family Forum dl1000v
Hello everyone! Thanks for the freindly welcome! I've been crunching for Wcgrid for a long time, but I am new to teams. Can someone give me a quick overview of what base camping and treks are?
Thanks!
-
@dl1000v
....Basically ...BaseCamp is a bunch of misfits with various computational powers; from various established WCG teams, like this one...that get together a few times per year and join a selected team to boost their stats,standings,visibility...whatever! during the Holiday season we tend to act like Santa ....
A trek is the physical influx where we join the victim errr...beneficiary of the pre-chosen team/project!! It's all in fun ...but for the betterment of the team/project we have chosen too help---An awful lot of preplanning goes on behind the scenes at our secret batcave!!!!
The trek here @ Our FamilyForum is scheduled to start at 00:01 11/22/09 in earnest
with probably 15-20 BC Campers joining in; I keep a set of books so that we have bragging rights to what we have done as a group and individually. At the end of the trek we build and select 'merit badges' for the recently completed trek that we can display in the 'BatCave'
@BC...
did I miss anything ..or misrepresent???
-
You done good Sport. :bigthumb:
dl1000v, we're glad to have you here the FamilyForum team and hope you stay with us of course, but it's always an individual decision for anyone who is donating their computing cycles as you are now doing. Most people join a team as you've done here with us on the FF and then stay there for the duration and that's how it has been for me and my 'core' members for almost 10 years now. During that time we've been through many changes as a team and had lots of adventures, but the central focus has always remained the same... we work as a team doing this Crunching thing hoping that we help find some cures for cancer.
But we sometimes have a little fun along the way! :08:
Through the years we've known about and witnessed the fun work the the BaseCampers do when they do a Trek, where they join a team for a week or two or three and give the host team a big blast of points and try to generate interest within the host teams forum membership by doing lots of posting in topics like this one. What you are seeing now is the buildup to the BC Trek that is about to happen for us here on Our FamilyForum...(November 22, 2009 to December 5, 2009) and this topic and several others in this 'Cancer Research Team' board are all dedicated to the BC'ers and their efforts on our behalf as they do the Trek.
When the Trek is over you will be most welcome to stay with us here on the FF team and you would be welcome to participate in any part of the forum/site but as mentioned before, it's strictly your decision. You are a part of the FF membership of course and I've currently placed you in the 'BaseCamper' membergroup because you joined the FF team and then joined the FF site during the same time as lots of BC'ers were joining, but if you would like that can be changed to one of our regular membergroup categories, just say the word and it will be made so.
Please feel free to post any questions or comments that you have, someone will always try to give you a good answer. riteon
-
....to those that have never experienced one... A BaseCamp Trek is something you have to see first hand to understand...It's all good!!!!!!!
-

I think Sport put it as good as one can and you can't find a better place to hang your hat than Our Family Forum if you want to associate with "relentless" crunchers. :08:
Just ask BigFoot.

Yes we are... RELENTLESS! :cool2:

Relentless crunching is good!
Thanks for the info. So.... if I want to trek wtih you guys, do I need to do anything? Is there a trek list of what teams your visiting and do I need to quit this team and join the one we are trekking to, or does the FF team as a whole automatically drag me around wtih them on treks, for lack of a better phrase!
-
@dl1000v
Start your adventures ....HERE>>> BAT CAVE (http://s2.excoboard.com/exco/index.php?boardid=3749) <<<.. you'll have to ask for and wait for a key to the front door, but one of the slacker Admins will eventually let you in!!!!!...then Introductions are always a good thing
EDIT: Family Forum is a target team we are about to invade ....follow the above link and start making noise ....you'll get access to the whole burrito ....do the research and you will grasp what we are all about!!! If you have any ???'s any of the membership will be happy to help out or many of us can personally be contacted @ SeriousCrunchers (http://seriouscrunchers.net)

We all have home teams that we reside at when we are not involved in a trek. For you that's been Our Family Forum. When we go on a trek we have to leave our home team for the amount of time that we've decided to trek and join the target team then when we are done we rejoin our home team.
Some Base Campers have a lot of hardware and choose to dedicate a certain amount to a trek while they leave other machines at home or other projects while some take the whole herd along. The choice is up to the individual.
If you'd like to participate in treks then follow the link and instructions Sport has given you. :wink2:
-
....do I need to quit this team and join the one we are trekking to
in a nutshell.... YES There will always be instructions and links @BaseCamp
participation is strictly voluntary; after(or during) a given trek you can always quit the target team and join/rejoin any project/team you wish; your statistics to date will still be logged in the trek Stats books which are posted on BaseCamp as well as @ seriouscrunchers.net; a copy is also available to the target team
-
I am hoping to get 5 machines up for the trek, 2 desktops and 3 laptops, defo 3 though
-

Les you can run all of those under a separate name for each one if you wish, but what lots of people do is run them all under one name, or log-in... that makes book keeping lots simpler for all involved by keeping all of your production together under that one name.
-
well my lappy is under lesmonds already, I was running that when my D/Top was in the shop, we got my daughters lappy here and my sons D/top plus lisa's Lappy, so I could sign up Lisa, Kris and Stacey under under there names, will see what they say first Ken.
-
Which ever way you want to do it is OK Les, if each PC is under one family members name then that family member gets credit for their work under their own name instead of having it all lumped together.
When I do the stats charts for us here on the FF each member will get their own line in the chart if the PC is listed under their name, that way they can see how they are doing from from week to week.
Lisa, Kris and Stacey are welcome to join the forum membership if they want to, but they will be able to see the stats whether they do or not.
-
Lets give a big Welcome Aboard to Dataman... he's now a member here on the FF.

This is a concept I've never encountered before ... incorporation of host users input individually ...that's a rewrite I'm not looking forward too, although all of your contributions will be incorporated as part of the "Host" portion which is part of the books ....hhhmmmm I need to look into this farther....thinking...this could be doable...just don't expect it on this trek
-
I Can do this with host teams at around 20~ Max 30 members (( Any more is just too labor intensive )).....It'll be a 2 week minimum 'Free Time' (when I'm not crunched with current books) rewrite and double the size of the books from 1 Meg to 2 Meg or more with the added Graphics
-

Sport I may not be understanding correctly what you're saying, but there's no need to alter your SOP on the stats that you produce for a Trek... we'll still have our own 'in house' charts that I'll be doing that will list each of our FF regulars and that will track their output during the Trek and the charts will include the BC'ers of course. If I'm understanding correctly your stats will cover the event from the BC'er perspective and mine will cover the Trek from the FF perspective.
To give everything balance we could maybe coordinate our stats postings, maybe even include them into one post but however we do them it should be easy and fun without having to do major changes to the way you would normally do things. :bigthumb:

Hey Guys,
Thanks for all the great info, I'm informed and ready to go! I'm waiting for my authorization over in Base camp, so once that goes through I'll check out the up coming treks and see what's going on, it sounds like fun. I will however, call FF home if no one has any objections, I like the hospitality here!

I've notice in browsing on the Base camp forum, that there is a rule there about not passing the #1 crunchers position, "Gentlemenly crunching", is that the case here? I don't want to step on any toes.

Ken (GPa Ken) the leader; has dismissed this rule ...KICK ASS!!!!!....
At future treks....with your history, this could be an issue ...there have been instances where that has created problems....Also you joined the team prior to the Trek start...and commited to remain as a home member; so there should be no problems ....final decision to be make by OFF of course!!!!!
-
Sport is correct, it has been mentioned before and likely will be again that although we are a very small team at this point in our history we have been around for a good long time now and our core membership has seen the ebb and flow of life in the Crunching wars... we will be unfazed by who ranks where on a list because we Crunch for the Cure and that's all that matters.
So, bring your big guns and let those big dogs show what they can do with no worries about us locals! :08:
And as I've been known to say...

I'm more than welcome to this idea!
Mallie...this one is for you!!! ( the marriage proposal is still open)

Just sent Mom an email about this posting... she's gonna love it. :2thumbs:
I'll call her in a few and see if she is up for posting a reply. You can count on her reading your comments, (or maybe having me read them to her) and then posting some comments in return. Hopefully she'll feel up to doing the comments herself, if not I'll do it for her.
This is a really nice thing for the BC'ers to do and I really appreciate this sentiment, *Thank You* to all of the BC'ers.

I am still amazed. This may be a Base Camper Personal Best day. Our "Accounting Department" :hah: should check the records. And the best part ... IT IS ONLY DAY ONE. :2funny:
On another note, "Dataman" made it up to #322 in the world ranks (thank you GPU's) and "Dataman@BC got two shiny silver badges at WCG (Oooo, Ohhhh shiny things) and I blew a power supply on a P4 (I hate that smell ... lingers for days). Hey, two out of three ain't bad.

If today was a good day, wait until tomorrow.. :innocent: Congratulations on your World Standing, hard work produces results. :milestone: riteon .As regards those PSU's, I now buy them two at a time as you can bet your bottom dollar that as soon as you fix one another will blow. Hey CP ... you are so far above me at #170 I can't even see you. :worship: I am not worthy. Currently, I have two i7 920's, 3 Q6600's and a Pentium D that also runs the weather station and 8 GTX260's on the GPU side. This P4 was retired from crunching a year ago and last summer was out on the deck running an external HD with 10k MP3's on it. :2funny: I didn't think it would last the trek. It's back up now. After all these years, I can swap a PS almost as fast as NASCAR can do 4 tires and fuel.
Good to see you here mate. :2thumbs:

EDIT: dl1000v seems to have a split personality ... :belly:

....a brand new set of books and I'm finding all sorts of errors ...this trek will give me a chance to clean them all...for example I have no idea why dl1000v shows up twice ...but I'll fix it!!!!

I think the 1.87% might be me, but I'll take the 27.63% instead if you like

That is some amazing pie! :bigteeth:
Good J.O.B. to one and all, it is indeed one rip roaring start for this Trek.

@OC'ers: I should post this at Base Camp but ... I'm here. :hah: I know some of you are extreame OC'ers. I was OC'ing a card this morning and blew up W7. Instead of getting the BSOD it went directly to the shut down screen for a split seccond and then shut down the machine. Not that the BSOD had any useful (or understandable) info on it but I thought it was strange not to get it. Has anyone seen a BSOD in W7? Thanks!
:campers:

Good morning. :breakfastgif:
I OC'd my CPU to a point where Win 7 didn't like it and it hosed the operating system.
Had to do a reinstall as the repair function said it couldn't repair it.
-
Well that sucks but is nice to know. I don't OC CPUs but I do the GPU's. If it blows up, EVGA Precision brings it back up at the -1 settings. I was curious why it doesn't blue screen in Win7. Thanks for the info.

Well I can only share what happened to me so far and when that OC failed I got a blue screen which simply stated that windows had been shut down due to an error and it took me a while to figure out that it was a polite way of saying sorry bud but you hosed your operating system so start over. :yikes:
-
That's interesting. I'm using Win7 on 13 machines since they are free (until the RC runs out). I had BSOD in two machines and they both referred back to my NVIDIA card which is not overclocked. One of them is GTX250 and the other is GTX260. I think the drivers might have something to do with this or the applications I am using it on (GPUGrid). The other 11 machines are chugging along nicely on any old card...

I'm using nVidia 191.07 driver and CUDA 2.3 .dll's. I haven't looked lately for updates. GPUGrid is rock solid now. It's probably been 2 months since I had a bad wu. I gave up on Milkyway and Collatz as they are so unstable for me.
Thanks again.

LW....do you wanna see the raw numbers????...they are intimidating to say the least!!!!
But I can give them to you
For example Ken has 9,870 points in the last 2 days ...but that is only 0.41% of the last 2 days BC input...that doesn't even grant him 1%!!!!!

Raw data as per EOB 112309
Note the "Last Date at Trek" uses the 'Now()' function to autocalc the current date, which calculates the days on a 'By Minute' formula so the math may not 'look right' but it is!!!!
OOPS!!! I found a couple more bugs...Fixed

There's got to be something amiss with RAMMIE's results numbers.
No way you could get 671,000 points with only 34 results.

I retired about the same time ( USN ) 20yrs, then went into the private sector. Still think I should be able to sleep in once in awhile. {}

Didn't stay long enough to retire, but was in the Navy as well. :bigthumb:
Actually, I get tired of getting up so early, but it seems to be hard-wired into my sleep patterns.

Yes, I'll soon be an old fart... and no, I'm not there yet. :bigteeth:
And thank you for your service as well rwillis.
I know that's the politically correct thing to say currently and it is certainly true that our vets and those still serving deserve our thanks, but back in the day it just did not happen. We've all read the stories about how it was back then so I won't bring all that back up except to say that I served and lived through times and it were nor pretty.
Ps: Here's another 'thing' that I did as part of my military experience that you may find interesting.
Do you have a need for speed? How about Mach 3.65! (http://www.ourfamilyforum.org/FamilyForum/index.php?topic=395.0)

With all those whining about getting up early, it shows our age, and also proves that we are survivors;
We are Survivors
We were born before the TV age, before polio shots, plastics, contact lenses, frisbees and the pill.
We were before refrigerators, tumble dryers, electric blankets, air conditioners, credit cards, ballpoint pens and before man walked on the moon.
We got married first and then lived together. How quant can you be?
In our time, closets were for clothes, not for "coming out of". Bunnies were small rabbits and dishes were for washing not for receiving programs from outer space. Designer Jeans were scheming girls, and having a meaningful relationships meant getting along well with your cousins.
We thought fast food was what you ate during Lent and cold turkey was what you ate on Boxing Day.
We were before house-husbands, gay rights, computer dating, dual careers and commuter marriages.
Divorce was something that happened to film stars. We were before day-care centers, group therapy and nursing homes.
We played with Dinky toys, wore liberty-bodices, and took a daily dose of cod liver oil and malt.
We drank Ovaltine, ate porridge, and listened to Dick Barton, the Goon Show, Workers' Playtime and Housewives's choice.
We had never heard of Radio1, tape decks, electric typewriters, artificial hearts, word processors or yoghurt.
For us, time-sharing meant togetherness, not a Spanish holiday homes; a chip meant a piece of wood, hardware meant a shop where you bought hammers and nails, and software wasn't even a word!
In 1945 "Made in Japan" meant poor quality and the Koreans and Taiwanese hadn't even started production.
Pizzas, Macdonald's and instant coffee were unheard of.
We were born when everything in Woolworths cost one penny. For sixpence, you could take a tram ride, go to the cinema and buy an ice cream.
In our day cigarette smoking was fashionable, grass was mowed, coke was a cold drink and pot was something you cooked in.
Rock music was a lullaby and AIDS were for those with hearing difficulties.
We were certainly not before the difference between the sexes we discovered, but we were surely before the sex change; we made do with what we had, and we were the last generation to think you needed a husband to have a baby!
We typed letter with manual typewriters, did computations by hand, and used carbon paper to make copies.
We used telephones without buttons or dials and Fax was something you looked up in the encyclopaedia.
We did business with handshakes and trust and somehow it all worked and we survived....
-
mousie's not a survivor... :08:

This is simply AWESOME ....((did anyone else come home to 1/2 the farm down because of UpDate Tuesday?))
BTW ....I have an ERROR some place ...I'm showing that BC consistently produces more than the entire OFF team, including base camp and the margin is growing! It appears I'm counting someone twice...anyone see any anomalies in their scores?...someone in the 3-5K/day arena
This could be the situation with SUJO... but I balanced that out ...I thought...if it is SUJO it should be back to normal by the first of next week
Ladies and Gentlemen, I do appreciate you catching my errors ...I found a lot of them and know I didn't find all; but you have really helped on this!
HAPPY TURKEY DAY EVERYONE!!!! :beer1:

Very nicely done Sir...Thank you for all the work you have put into this. I can only point out the obvious and I can not see any faults. Well done... :2thumbs:
-
I appreciate that Pete...there is an issue somewhere...now it's personal ...I'll find it!
EDIT: it is on the Benchmark : I deducted his priors and set it as Zero then added his priors at start of business without adding them to the Baseline....I think!!!
-
@ GPU Crunchers: Einstein now has a GPU app. Preliminary results are disappointing. First it is nVidia only (sorry ATI crunchers). Worse, it uses an entire core as well as the card. Last credits appear to be bad. I ran one for 10 hours and the pending credit is 61.32 :cry2: Compare this to Milkyway that used 0.34 core/1 gpu, ran for 4;27 minutes for 53:45 pending credits. Good news is you can use 9xxxGT cards but they may run for days.
EDIT: Hit enter before I was done.
EDIT 2: Granted credit was 250.00. Not very good for 10 hours use of a card and a core ... as bad as WCG. Oh well at least there is one more GPU option.
Raining here. pcorn
-
That sucks!!! I'm running an ATI 4850 @ collatz and getting 50K/day
-
 Just looked at stat's ... you're killing me LW!!! WHAT??? You turn up the OC wick? Good job! :bigteeth:

Haven't changed a thing since the start of the trek actually.
I do get fluctuations though because output is dependent on how much or little my offspring use their PC's for gaming.
You'll always whoop me in the GPU department though. :bigteeth: (that's become my favorite smiley of all the sites I go to)
-
BTW ....I have an ERROR some place ...I'm showing that BC consistently produces more than the entire OFF team, including base camp and the margin is growing!
:beer1:
I found the ERROR...It was with Orakk being referenced to Sujo1....FIXED ...anyone that finds anything else, I really would appreciate it!!!
-
Thou rockest oh mighty stats master. :worship:

Just doing my job

cant see me on there sport. or am I not worthy :cry2:

You most certainly are but I thought you were crunching for the home team? :opps:
I didn't notice you registering at Base Camp.
-
I can enter Les as a BCer if he wishs!!!
-
I see a pwrguru has joined us on the trek. :2tumb:
Welcome to the trek pwrguru.
That makes 23 Base Campers. :toot:
-
Welcome guru riteon
@ Wolfie - I just checked, and don't see him registered wither
Rick
-
I can enter Les as a BCer if he wishs!!!
Yes please include Les and he will also be registering at Base Camp so be on the lookout for another registration. :wink2:
Will have to get Les to inform us which name it is lesmond or twinklestar?
-
OK registered at base camp has Lesmond, Thanks guys :bigthumb:
-
OKAY...so when is his official start? I've got #'s all the way back to the start
-
OKAY...so when is his official start? I've got #'s all the way back to the start
At the beginning of the trek since it appears to be an oversight on my part. :opps:
On a side note that takes us up to 24 campers for this trek. :toot:
I wonder what the record is?

Welcome Pwrguru ... better later than never. riteon

Have you had this many before?
-
not in my time with BC ...usually around 8-12
EDIT: I did a rewrite and expanded from 20 to 25 ...never expecting to fill the house ....I don't know what I'll do if we bust 25 on this one!!!! ...I'll make it happen but it's really going to suck!!! ...next rewrite of the stats will be for 50!!!!!
-
I'm not aware of anyone else expected as I've tried to round up all I can but we're good for one more in any case. :bigteeth:
There was a point where I didn't think we'd hit 25 but now it is indeed possible.
I don't think you need worry about redoing the books until next time though.
-
...as soon as this one is over; I'll spend a week doing another rewrite..sounds easy to just add more slots ...but a lot of writing goes into each member slot!!!!!
-
I don't remember having 24 campers before..
-
I don't remember having 24 campers before..
Be nice if we could maintain the momentum. :bigteeth:
-
Wonder how many places they have gone up?
-
Wonder how many places they have gone up?
@ start of trek the OFF team was #1360 in points....EOB11/28/09...#715
They don't call me the statsman for nothing!!!
-
They've climbed 1263 positions in the last month and 657 in the last week.
That's what you call moving up. :bigteeth:
-
I can't wait to see where they'll be at the end of the trek. :)
-
This should be interesting!
they have some heavy hitters helping out that make you and I look like dust mops!!!!
-
I was feeling small before. NOW, I'm just a little less than insignificant. :)
I need some ice cream to drown my sorrows. :)
-
we are just a couple of many 2%ers...even at 2% 145K and 175K ...in 6 days is respectable ....I'll hold my head high with pride!!!!
-
hurrah for the 2% club :campfire:
-
<---- can i be a cool base camper? :bigteeth:
-
You'll have to learn the secret handshake and take the oath first. (https://www.ourfamilyforum.org/FamilyForum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.rhodes-online.net%2Fsmilies%2Featdrinkbmerry.gif&hash=68b90f8e188a02c327ed7967b5741203ba33c59e)

Mousie, I am so sorry for this oversight.
The lapse could be blamed on the Thanksgiving Holidays but that's not really a good defense... I just screwed up and you have my apologies. :bigteeth:
-
hurrah for the 2% club :campfire:
Lets take a look at the numbers:
(https://www.ourfamilyforum.org/FamilyForum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi643.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fuu159%2FSCSport%2FPie112809.png&hash=b6fda5db6e1a3311287e69fccb7dba5f0565b97e)
(https://www.ourfamilyforum.org/FamilyForum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi643.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fuu159%2FSCSport%2FSummary112809.png&hash=ff7e168be40bb3542ca1e7f2d954b35539b7e64c)
First lets realize we have 24 Campers and 100% of a pie; agreed? Which means in a perfect world we would each have just a little over 4%
Now if we take into account that Rammie@ 29%; Cruncher Pete has 15%; and dl..... has 13% as of 11/28 End Of Business...that means these 3 have 57% of the pie, which leaves 43% for the other 21 of us simple math says that if we each got an equal portion then that portion would be 2.0476191% BUT LW and DM are each hogging 7% Novice has 6% and Paulie has 5% !!!
Being a 2%er is definitely not a bad thing!!!!!
Being a Cruncher is Definitely a GOOD thing!!!!!
-
I'm a hog. :thud:
:bigteeth:
Oh well at least I turned the rice badge blue. Now I can go back to HFCC.
-
for this dedication I'm running strictly Help Cure Cancer and Childhood Cancer in deference to the host's passions
I know these two projects are NOT the most efficient or point productive...BUT
-
Great J.O.B. everyone! :bigteeth:
Here's another little chart for ya.

correction then....hurrah for the crunchers

Thanks for your dedication Sport. :bigthumb:
While it's true that we try to focus on cancer here on the FF, we nonetheless feel that any of the other projects are worthy as well so if a team member happens to be running something else we have no problem with that.
-
Good numbers by all. :2thumbs:
-
Good numbers by all. :2thumbs:
Yes this is sure to be the highest scoring trek ever..
-
My stats are crap!!!
Me put on the afterburners for a couple of days then it's home to MY fave for the rest of the year.
Got a mission of my own.
Expect my stats to improve a tad over the next two days....lets see what I can muster :bigthumb:
-
4 machines redirected.........time to grab a new HFCC badge :bigthumb:
-
My stats are crap!!!
No they aren't.
Every work unit counts and there's far more crunchers around the globe with just one or two PC's running than there are mega crunchers with large herds.
The way I look at it you run what you can.
I've grown a fair bit since I started crunching a decade ago but there's always endless amounts of individuals that make me feel tiny.
I'm taking a whooping from four or five people regularly in this trek but it's all good. :bigteeth:
-
It's OK vaio. :bigthumb:
Remember that thing I used to say back in the day when I really was the BigFoot...
It's all Good and it all Counts!
And...
Vaio is RELENTLESS!!! :cool2:
-
I know....but I still prefer to put our decent numbers.
Will ease my conscience for going back to Poem later :bigthumb:
Dunno what it is but I am always drawn back to that project.....wanna get back over there and shake up the top 40 pcorn
-
Re past treks..............prior to the last two treks I would say the most we ever had was 16-18 on a trek.
-
A fair amount of Humility being passed around on this Trek ...yet we are still friends (https://www.ourfamilyforum.org/FamilyForum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi332.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fm333%2Fjpbcards%2Fbeer%2Fbeer-4.jpg&hash=f91d990da90903f8eb99cbb06d872ea985013c5c)

Regardless of various peoples personal views and such...the bottom line is we all share the same dedication and motivation :bigthumb:
-
12k today....a start.
Must do better, slacker pup pcorn
-
I sold 2 laptops, a 1.4 and a 1.7 mg machines, during this trek to help finance another Phenom X4.....it's alway a revolving situation...we grow as we can and that as an end never ends!

Amen to that.
I find that generally when I manage to upgrade the big dogs ahead of me wind up doing the same so generally I just have to upgrade to keep my spot. :bigteeth:

No, much more than that.
Well, going out of town, off and on, for the next couple of weeks. I have to shut down the server room but will keep the weather machine up in the office. Have a great holliday OFF and campers too. This was a good run. A BC classic me thinks.
You have a great team here BF/Ken. Keep it going. I shall check back from time to time. Cast my vote for Mousie/Pinky's original badge ... the others are cluttered.
Happy New Year!
-
Take care Dataman and thanks for coming to the Trek. :2thumbs:
-
I'll collect and collate your PV's for you ...Enjoy December!!!!!
-
See ya next time DM..
-
Thanks for being here Dataman, we miss you already.
You will always be welcome here on the FF.
-

In a word ... No!
I'll still be around for the rest of the trek with some resources. I just don't like to go away with everything running. Those 1000W PS's scare me. :belly: I can still check the forums with the hand held (or other peeps computers :2funny:)
Enjoy the Holidays.
:ff:
-
It is nearing Trek time again, so I will be leaving. This is a good team and I have enjoyed crunching here. I'll drop by again sometimes.
CRUNCH hard and CRUNCH often.

Now Back to catching up on the gossip!!!!
-
Hey Sport! Good to see you again. :2thumbs:
Thanks for the update.
-
I've been checking the threads ....looks like you and yours are all doing exceptionally well!!! riteon
Regards to Les and Steve!!!! :2thumbs:
-
Hey Sport! How's it going? :)
-
Staying busy Steve! Building, adding, removing machines; added a few more GPU's to stay competitive in that venue...what have you great folks been up to?
-
Been getting into photography lately and have finally learned a lot. Before I just couldn't understand apertures, f-stops, etc. but now am finally getting the hang of it. :)
Other than that, just the usual...too much work and not enough pay. LOL
