A new topic just to get things off your chest.
Was stopped at the longest traffic light in the city on the way home from work yesterday. Wouldn't you know it? A beautiful hawk glided right on top of a utility pole directly across the street! The problem? I didn't have my camera with me!!! :thud:
I've been trying to carry it with me now that the temps are getting warmer. The camera is rated for 32?F at the coldest/lowest for safe temps. Since temps have been dropping below that at night I've been leaving it home.
On another note, I'll be getting a new tripod soon.

Got awaken by a hail storm around about Midnight!!! Jumped out of bed because I remembered that Kay's car was outside, so I went out to put it in the garage and got soaked!!! Of course the hail had stopped by then and there was only heavy rain... thus the soaking!!! :thud:
Then around about 2:00AM both my legs got charlie horses which kept me up for an hour or so, but then it came back in one leg around 4:30AM!!! :thud:
Needles to say an Afternoon Nap will be in my future. :hah:

A hate the charlie horses when I'm sleeping!
Yesterday, I went to the park to take a few pics. Saw a woodpecker and got really close to it and fired off a few shots. This lady walks past when I first start and says nothing. She walks past again and started talking to me which scares the bird away. I'm not upset because I've already got a few shots in. However, that's when I realize that I had the camera on the wrong setting the whole time and the pics were not tack sharp. :(

Fasting is not fun!!! :eek1:
Especially when you know that a colonoscopy is waiting for you at the end of your two day fast. :thud:
-
:yikes:
-
Actually it all turned out to be lots easier than I had expected. :bigthumb:
For the fasting part it was OK to have all the liquids I wanted, including broths, clear soups, etc... so I was not hungry.
For the colonoscopy part... it was quick and painless and they had me knocked out except for the last few minutes.

It started to rain when I wanted to go out for more pix...

Had a lot of customer service problems yesterday at McDonald's, Best Buy, and the local diner. :P

Some people just don't listen very well. LOL

Thunder and Lightening!!! :yikes:
We had a really bad thunder storm here in Tobaccoville last night and there was lots of lightening to go with it. At least one bolt struck the house and fried several sections of phone wire and burned out the HDMI connector on the satellite box, we can still use it by connecting with RCA cables, but the picture quality is way down... a new box is supposed to arrive fro Dish on Thursday.
It also fried the DSL modem, so our internet was down for about 16-18 hours... Kay was not happy. :08:
It only took the Windstream tech about five minutes to replace the modem and fix the issue. :2thumbs:
-
Did you have surge protectors? If you buy good ones they will replace what was fried. ;)
-
We have them, but they are older. Everything was covered except for the phone wires.
-
Now that you've mentioned it mine are probably 7-10 years old. LOL

Brain power/function.
What really sucks is when you know what you are losing.
Something like Alzheimer's might be better, because at least that way you wouldn't have a clue! laughing7

Good point...

Being up and unable to sleep all night. :'(
Pain levels in my feet have been 8-10 since about 11:00 PM last night.
-
That doesn't sound good...
-
My drugs are just not getting the pain under control. The Lyrica usually keeps it down to about 1-2 and that's normal for me the past three or four years, but last night it went up to the top of the scale and even my standby/emergency drug (Oxy) could not take the edge off. :censored:
The Oxy is only for the rare flareup, like last night, and because it's only used once or twice a month it always works like a charm... but, sadly, not last night! The level is still at about a 4, so I guess that it's time for another Oxy to supplement the Lyrica, hope it works this time.
-
I hope all goes well soon!
-
At this moment all is well... my right foot is about a 1 and that's my normal.
Now me just needs to deal with the opioid constipation that can come with the oxy.

A friend at work was about to retire in a week and that's all he talked about and was so happy about it. Yesterday, he had a stroke and passed away!!!
-
That's unfortunate for him and his family and is sad to hear.

'Loneliest man in the world' dies: Tribesman who lived in isolation for 26 years after cattle ranchers killed the rest of his tribe is found dead in Brazilian rainforest (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11156577/Tribesman-dubbed-loneliest-man-world-living-isolation-26-years-dies.html)
A tribesman dubbed 'the loneliest man in the world' after living in isolation for 26 years has died in the Brazilian rainforest.
Land grabbers and cattle ranchers had completely wiped out the rest of his tribe in several attacks since the 1970s, leaving him to live out the rest of his days on his own.
The hermit shunned all contact with the outside world although authorities kept an eye on him and occasionally left him supplies.
Let's talk about the loneliest man on Earth....

Sad...but true. As I've said in another topic, "It's going away any time soon!"
