I like it. Dark themes are not my first choice, but I like the crisp, clean lines.

My Friend George
« on: July 07, 2009, 01:29:55 PM »
It had been several years since we last talked... maybe early in 2005.

Today we talked again.

George and me, we've been Best Buds for most of our lives, starting back in the early 60's (or maybe it was the late 50's, the years seem to blur together now) and we could tell you some stories!
Of course we can't really tell you some of those stories because it might get us in sooo much trouble, even after all these years.
We did a lot of catching up during our talk today the way old friends do sometimes and it was good just like it always is.

But, underneath our pleasant reminiscing was a great sadness because George's middle son, Michael, has just died and although I'm blessed in that this has not happened to our family I can still imagine how heart breaking it must be to lose a child.
My heart goes out to my friend George and his family, he is in my prayers.

RIP, Michael Simpson.

Hi Tyra.

Michael (he was George & Lucille's middle son) evidently had depression issues all of his life. Kenny was the one that called me to let me know about it and he had said that Micheal's first attempt at taking his own life was at age 16... I didn't remember that. Anyway, he got the job done this time, he was about age 50.

Kenny had also said that he had been told that George would not talk to anyone, but he seems to be dealing with it OK now, but we really didn't talk about Michael very much except for a very few brief comments... as mentioned earlier I've been blessed that you and your brothers are all still here, still I can imagine the great sorrow that he and Lucille must be feeling.

Luv Ya... Dad
