I like it. Dark themes are not my first choice, but I like the crisp, clean lines.

Seems quicker to me Ken.  I see you've cleaned the files out nicely.  Error log should be ok now.

The custom themes are still there and working, so not sure if you've already re-installed them.  They seem to work ok.

Just installed TP 1.1.110 over at http://www.tinyportal.net Might as well give it a test there too.  See it blurts any errors.

No changes to the themes yet.
What process do you think would work best? I'm thinking to just delete all of the custom themes and then install 'Outline' as the forum default.

On the errors, so far the only errors are the two that came up for you earlier in the day... plus a few spammers trying to get in.  laughing7

I agree Ken, keeping the amount of themes to a minimum makes life easier.  Best to disconnect them from SMF first using

Admin > Configuration > Themes and Layout > Theme Settings. And click the remove icon to the right hand side of each theme. Then you can delete them via ftp.

You Just need to choose wisely, and install them before any of the mods.

That error I generated is from some sort of mod which is still partially installed somewhere.  If you look in Admin > Configuration > Modification Settings.  You'll see a little checkbox sitting there with a save button to the right. No idea what that is tbh. There must be a file or two left over from that one.

Working...  laughing7

Most of the old custom themes are uninstalled and deleted from the server. I'm wondering if that check box is a leftover from one of the custom themes?
We will find out soon enough.

Ken, now that SMF uses hooks some of them are hard to remove. You should use the "Fix Packages" tool.

http://download.simplemachines.org/?tools

That little checkbox could be from a hook. Mick is right about the themes. But the checkbox is from a mod, not a theme. Themes do not use that area.

You may be right Steve, but some of Bloc's themes were installed as mods, the 'BAC' theme series were such and although they have been uninstalled I was wondering if may this might be related. We will hopefully find out at some point.

EDIT: I'm downloading the fix packages tool and will use it once all the themes are removed from the server... it's a slow process.  :o

Not really, back everything up. Then delete everything and upload new smf files and settings.php. Run repair_settings.php and all should be good. Just use the same db. should take you no more than 5-10 minutes not counting time for backup. Then you can add logos, themes, mods, and anything else.

Or a quicker "backup" is to copy everything to a new folder first using cPanel's File Manager...takes a few seconds. Then do the rest.

Ummm... just ran the fix_packages.php tool to 'remove all hooks' and now it shows all the packages as installed in the package manager, but they are not installed of course. Confusing.

OK, it's back like it was on the packages.

I have to stop now and wait this tomorrow in the AM... this is killing my data usage. shocked003

They are not installed, just uploaded. If you see [install] then they are not installed yet. If you see [uninstall] then they are installed.

Maybe this is the best route, have to wait now for the AM.

OK, here's my plan:

1/ Make a new folder; "/home/ourfamil/public_html/FamilyForum_new"

2/ Load a fresh copy of SMF 2.0.10 into the new folder.
... that should give me a virgin copy of SMF to work with.

3/ Back up the database.

4/ Rename the existing "/home/ourfamil/public_html/FamilyForum" using the date at that time, example; "...public_html/FamilyForum_07102015"
... using the date lets us keep track for later use as needed.

5/ Rename the "...FamilyForum_new" folder to "...FamilyForum" and run the install procedure using the existing database.

6/ Begin the rebuild process of copying over anything needed from the current folder.

... do you see anything that I'm leaving out, or need to do differently?

I didn't...you did when you ran Fix Packages. I checked after you ran it.

1.  Backup database to your PC using phpmyadmin's export tool. It's better than SMF's.

2.  Make a new folder; "/home/ourfamil/public_html/FamilyForum_new"

3.  Upload a copy of SMF 2.0.10 large upgrade version into the new folder...not the full install version or it will try to create a new db. Use Cpanel's File Manager to upload the zip then extract it. Will take only a minute for uploading and extracting and is much faster than FTP.

4.  Copy the Settings.php and Settings.bak files to the new folder. Do not forget this step or your forum will not load!

5.  Rename the existing "/home/ourfamil/public_html/FamilyForum" using the date at that time, example; "...public_html/FamilyForum_07102015"
... using the date lets us keep track for later use as needed.

6.  Rename the "...FamilyForum_new" folder to "...FamilyForum" and run the upgrade procedure using the existing database. Run http://ourfamilyforum.org/FamilyForum/upgrade.php. This will ensure that your files and the database are upgraded as needed.

7.  Upload repair_settings.php and run it to make sure everything is linked properly and showing the correct folders.

8.  Test the forum to make sure it works and links/folders are correct.

9.  Install themes, images, and mods...in that order.
