Mindi's Dog Cage.
« on: January 31, 2017, 07:10:12 PM »
Our DIL, Mindi, has a small dog and wanted me to make a dog cage for her living room using an old end table... here's how it's looking so far.

... the end table in it's original state:

... making some panels to fill the openings:

... and here are the assembled panels along with the end table after their coating of Kilz primer/sealer.

More to come later, the weather is supposed to be good again tomorrow (above 50°) so I should be able to apply the finish coat of paint. (black)

It's Finished!
« Reply #3 on: February 02, 2017, 06:12:53 PM »
... well, almost finished.  laughing7

The panels are all installed and the two coats of paint applied so it's finished except for watching the paint dry. But, our chilly weather here in T-Ville is playing havoc with the drying routine. May have to let it sit for 4-5 days so that the paint can cure enough so the the piece can be used.

In some of these pics the finish appears to have a white streaking... don't know why the camera did that.

And, Gpa's helper had to do his bit.

Looks great! So I guess the only thing left is to put a lock on it?

Put the final coat of paint on Mindi's dog cage this morning!

The lighting is not the best for these pictures, just too much back light out in the garage. The white flashes that appear in this pic are not apparent in RL.
