A site that I was trying to access was blocked by my scam detector so I thought, "Maybe I should check OFF to see what our rank is."

I just went to their site to check this out. Scam Detector Media, Inc. Who are these guys? How do they make money? A little research shows the corporation was started a few years ago. The address listed is an apartment complex according to Google maps.

Have never heard of them before.

If all they use is algorithm and posted this site is a scam risk then how reliable are they? Sounds like algorithm needs work and site review by a human.

They probably rate all SMF forums as scams based on their statements.

Ken - How did you find out they rated this site?

As mentioned in my first post I came across the site while while trying to open up another site, (don't remember what site I was trying to open).
So while looking at the 'Scam Detector' Home Page I saw the link for their Website Validator and thought to check our OFF site.

It's kind of interesting, but nothing to be all that excited about... unless it scares people away from our site of course.

EDIT:... this makes them sound kind of sketchy:

Yes, it seemed a bit sketchy to me too? That's why I was wondering how they made their money?

Do they charge to get off the "scam list" or what? ;D

Would imagine every SMF forum would be on that list based on their criteria.
