There's a new picture on the Front Page!

This one is of Grey Kimbrell, Mallie Hamrick-Kimbrell & Joe Hamrick, I'm not totally sure of the year but it may be the late 30's.

Grey is her husband (my Dad) and Joe is her brother.

Joe was my childhood hero. He served in WWII in the US Navy and that was the main reason why I enlisted in that same service. You'll see several pictures of Grey & Joe it the Back in the Day album, as well as in some of the others... both of them passed away several years ago.

That is great! What did you use to do that. I've been thinking of doing something like that but was going to do it from scratch. I know there is a genealogy/family history site but I forget what it is. At their site you could look up your family tree to a certain point then you'd have to pay more to view the rest. They also used to sell software in the stores a long time ago and still might.

Steve, it's a database utility published by www.ancestry.com.

Don't know if you can access it or not, it's a subscription based site and we have not signed up to pay the monthly fees and some functions are not available to us.

I think that might be the one. I remember the name of the software now. It's The Family Tree Maker, or something similar. I think it's this one but we've had very early versions. That must've been about 15-20 years ago.

That's the one.
The software cost is reasonable enough, but to get the full set of features and have it online you have to subscribe to the monthly thing.

Yup, that's what I remember about it. It is still a good program if you do your own legwork.
