Haunted Theme!
« on: October 25, 2009, 11:47:43 AM »
Hey Family!

Halloween is coming up on the 31st so I've switched the default theme to the 'Haunted by StormLrd' theme for the occasion. Be sure to turn on your sound to get the full effects!

As always you can change back to a different theme if you wish to by using the theme changer on the forum page.

Changed my mind!
The Haunted theme is just way to dark and hard to use, so it will be on during the day of Halloween only.  :bigcheese:

EDIT: If you like the Haunted theme you can use the theme changer to set it as your default theme.  :bigthumb:

Just made this Halloween banner, not sure if you could use it anywhere though

That's a really nice banner Les... I'll see if it can be inserted into this theme.

EDIT:
Placed it in the news fader rotation and it looks good there, but it may be a little too wide for some monitors... on Kay's 17" flat panel it breaks out a little.
Of course it's not really a static image because there are several items in the news and the fader is set at 4800, so it only disrupts the page for that short time each time it comes up in the cycle so I think it's OK as is.

Looks great Les, I like it.  :cool2:

The news is showing in both the fader and in the news at the top. I'm going to turn off the fader and delete all of the news entries except for the banner.

That looks better, I'm trying to center the image but so far my code is off.

This is my image code and the centering commands that I've tried so far don't work.
Code: [Select]

Installed Crips theme for 'Halloween 2009' and it looks good, but it covers up the news banner.

ah yeah see what you mean, not sure what you can do about that, can the news be turned off for crips theme? and then use one of the banners in place of his logo.png which may have to be resized to fit though.

OK found it..

in the theme .css find..
Code: [Select]
#header {
position: relative;
height: 139px;
overflow: hidden;
background: url(./images/img/head.gif) 0 0 repeat-x;
}
#logo {
position: absolute;
top: 30px;
left: 20px;
display: block;
width: 346px;
height: 50px;
cursor: pointer;
background: url(./images/img/logo.png) no-repeat;
Replace with
Code: [Select]
#header {
    position: relative;
    height: 180px;
    overflow: hidden;
    background: url(./images/img/head.gif) 0 0 repeat-x;
}
#logo {
    position: absolute;
    top: 25px;
    left: 20px;
    display: block;
    width: 600px;
    height: 150px;
    cursor: pointer;
    background: url(http://i33.tinypic.com/2e3wjzr.jpg) no-repeat;

Then replace the head.gif img, with this one below, in Themes/halloween09/images/img

Also try un-checking  "Enable News?" in current theme.

You can use either banner, but I have gone with the first img, I think the colors go better with the Halloween theme
