The first link you posted sends me to a page that says: "You need to fill in a username."

https://www.ourfamilyforum.org/FamilyForum/index.php?action=login2

It does that in Chrome, Edge,  and FF on my PC...unless my caching is off, again. I wouldn't be surprised. LOL

My book mark is for the forum page and it keeps me logged in:

Hi guys, hope things are good with you.

I noticed the redirect doesn't seem to be working properly here now, I men, if I use my bookmark (yes I could update it) but if you click, http://www.ourfamilyforum.org/FamilyForum/index.php I'm presented with a login at the top.  Just clicking login without entering anything in the boxes redirects me to https://www.ourfamilyforum.org/FamilyForum/index.php where I'm then logged in.

Actually, I get the same result as you when using your link Mick.

Steve, done that, and tried different browser, still the same though unfortunately.   When I click the old insecure bookmark it should force it to https, but it doesn't until I click the login button, then I'm logged in.

When I fist visit the username and password boxes are empty.  (screenshot). If I add a 's' to the http it then shows me as logged in. (2nd screenshot).

Yes, it should force it. I'll have to take a look at that. The funny thing is last night while at work I usually check in on the site but kept getting a forbidden message. Prolly cause of the old bookmark.

OK, I just fixed my site by editing the .htaccess file. But this site has a lot of things in it and i'm not sure what to get rid of. I only had three lines in mine. This one has a lot more.

Just took a look and I'm now trying to sort out what it all means.
The error page rewrite I know about... Seen Here.
The HTTPS feature I know about, of course, but am unclear as to why it's included in the .htaccess file.
The rest of the entries are not clear to me.

Steve, actually it seems to do the same thing on your site, or at least it does foe me.  Click this link and you'll see it doesn't change to https, and you'll probably look like your not logged in.  Then click one of your tabs and you will see you are logged in. http://www.docskillz.com/docs/index.php?action=forum

Ok, try my site now but clear you cache first. I think it works now. If so, I'll add it here.

FireFox seems to work correctly for me, but Chrome gives me the page with just the text headings as seen in the image below when typing "www.ourfamilyforum.org"  into the browser address bar.
... clicking on 'FamilyForum' takes me to the forums home page for login.
