This topic is picking up in the middle of an ongoing issue with the SMF Gallery, most images are not showing after an upgrade to the latest version. (7.0.8 )

So, inside the '/public_html/FamilyForum/gallery' folder I need:

/gallery0, /gallery7, /gallerycatimgs, /galleryftp, /galleryvideos and /highslide

... and move/copy the files from the current folders into these new folders:

OK, the files and folder have been copied over. I must have the paths set wrong because the images still do not display.
Gallery Path:    /home/ourfamil/public_html/FamilyForum/gallery/
Gallery Url:     http://www.ourfamilyforum.org/FamilyForum/gallery/
Batch Add Path:   /home/ourfamil/public_html/FamilyForum/gallery/ftp/

I've tried several variations on the paths, but no success.
'Bulk Add Pictures' still throws the error, 'Multiupload failed to load'

Braised beef with gravy over buttered egg noodles. Not sure of the veggie just yet...but got a bunch of frozen ones in the freezer.

Thanks! I usually make it once a month or so. It's not hard but the braising can take about an hour or so until it reduces and the beef is very tender. Best part is you can use very cheap cuts of beef. ;)

I'm looking at this image which shows in the gallery:

http://www.ourfamilyforum.org/FamilyForum/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=158

If you right-click it and select "View Image Info" the URL shows this:

http://www.ourfamilyforum.org/gallery0/189-230515034426.jpeg

Not the URL in your first post which shows this:

Gallery Url:     http://www.ourfamilyforum.org/FamilyForum/gallery/

I've been playing around with the gallery paths, trying to get it to display all of the images.

Back story is this:
The gallery was working OK, except for the 'Bulk Upload' feature... then I upgraded to the latest version.

Now the older, (existing images before update) will show, but not any newly uploaded images, or the new images will show but not the older images, depends on how you set the paths.
Turns out the the gallery folders were outside the 'gallery' folder... don't know how that could have happened?
In this image all folders with gallery in their name should be inside the gallery folder... I've copied them into the gallery folder now.

The point is the ones that show do not have "FamilyForum" in the URL...

Right, I know... and that's the problem, by playing around with the paths you can get the older images to show, or the new ones, but not both at the same time.

I think it will need some edits to the files, instead of just editing the paths in the gallery admin.

Ken, it's that that are in the wrong folders and possibly have the wrong paths. I just moved the one for your avy from:

/gallery0 to /gallery/0 and it shows in the gallery if you click the links. The images doe snot show initially on this page (top left and first one):

http://www.ourfamilyforum.org/FamilyForum/index.php?action=gallery

But if you click the links that are there you will see the image. So, this lets me believe the paths and URL's for the images are also incorrect as well as the location of the images themselves.

Ah, OK.
For some reason I missed this part:
You will probably also will have to copy the files from the gallery0 folder to the /gallery/0 folder
And same with
galleryvideos to /gallery/videos
And
gallery7/ to /gallery/7/

I'll go back into my FTP and do those folders and copy the files over and see what happens from there. Should only take a few.  laughing7

Just did a name change on those folders... '/home/ourfamil/public_html/FamilyForum/gallery/gallery7' to '/home/ourfamil/public_html/FamilyForum/gallery/7' etc.

Didn't seem to change anything.

It should be outside of /FamilyForum and under /gallery

That's what I said before...look at the URL. You want to add them to the /public_html/gallery subfolders.

It should be outside of /FamilyForum and under /gallery

That's the way it was before for some reason, but it should be; /FamilyForum/gallery/... and then all of the other folders, like '0', '7' etc. It is unknown at this point why the gallery package installed some of it's folders outside of the gallery folder, but it did that.

I'm starting to think that I should go with a reload of the SMF files and start over with my Mods, like the SMF Gallery and TP.

But the old ones show outside of it so it appears it was that way all along and this new install put them under /Familyforum. I doubt if the when you just installed it it moved all of the old folders and installed the new ones in a different location. It would install the new ones in the wrong location and leave the old ones alone.

Anyway, somehow the folders got mixed up. If you look in cPanel's File Manager you'll see the dates of the folders and files and can tell which came first and which was just installed today. Or look in your server logs to see what was moved and when.

On the per-existing images you are right in that they do show outside with no/FamilyForum/ in the address. The problem is that they should not have been that way AFAIK... I need to dig out my previous copy of the gallery zip and install it to a test bed to see how it installs the folders.

Anyways, in my previous install the folders were outside of the gallery folder and did not have the /FamilyForum/ in their address and it worked OK, but the upgrade screwed that up and so now here we are with busted links.  :censored:

BTW... on the previous folder setup, I'm not completely sure about that, the upgrade may have did all of this destruction.
 Note:
In this image of my test site it shows all of the folders inside the gallery folder and the gallery works as expected.

Ok, for some reason, even though I set the paths differently, it still adds them under /FamilyForum but it is not seeing them there.

Install it on a fresh test site and see if they show...or your TP test site. This will let you know if the mod is working or not.

Yepp... that's the result that I've been getting. Some settings will let the older images show and some settings will let the 4 images ('Recent Items') added after the update show but not both.

All of the images are in both places, example: 'FamilyForum/gallery0' and 'FamilyForum/gallery/0' both contain the same images, so they should display. But they don't.

I agree and that will give you the preexisting images, but not the four images that were uploaded after the gallery update.

I'm copying over the files from gallery/0 to FamilyForum/gallery0 to see what that will do. Most of the files already exist in the target folder, so there will only be a few files that are actually copied over.

I think that we may have it now! With copying those folders over to the correct location and adjusting the file paths it seems to be working OK now.

This image was just added and it went into the correct folder and shows in the gallery, along with preexisting image.

Now we just need to sort out the Multiupload error.  8)
