This old topic is being revived because I owe bridgetthamrick an Apologie.
While doing some research in some old topics I noticed my remark, "Umm... don't think we have any of those." in the above quote and realized that I was wrong about saying that we had no Irish ancestors during an ongoing conversation that Bridgett was having with me about our family history. The current stats on my personal AncestryDNA page shows we are 18% Irish.

Yes, that's true and it can also be German when the original version of the name is Hammerich, as in this example. :thumbup:
Another variation of the name is:
Hieronÿmus Hamerich; Schleswig-Holstein, Deutschland (Germany) Birth circa 1630 (... some other listings show his birth place as, Copenhagen, Denmark.)
