Bahamian R&B singer Johnny Kemp, best known for the 1988 party anthem "Just Got Paid," died this week in Jamaica.

The singer is believed to have drowned at a beach in Montego Bay on Thursday, the Jamaica Constabulatory Force said in a press release. The statement listed his age as 54, but other reports say he was 55.

Kemp was scheduled to perform on the Tom Joyner Foundation Fantastic Voyage Cruise, parent company Reach Media Inc. said in a statement. He had not boarded the ship.

I listen to The Tom Joyner Morning Show everyday on the ride home from work in the morning. I heard he was going to be on the cruise and had been listening to the show being broadcasted from the cruise.

Here's the website and you can listen to it live there if you can't get any of the locally broadcasted shows on the radio in your area.

Very funny stuff!

The guy on the left in the white suit is J Anthony Brown who was the writer for the original Arsenio Hall Show and a very funny comedian! You can see some of his stuff on his site here:
