Sport has joined the FamilyForum cancer research team!!!  :2tumb:
Welcome to the team Keith, it's good to have you aboard.

Keith has said that he'll camp out with us for a few days and we should really see a big jump in our production while he's doing it because he has dozens of units available for the task... from his note I think he's going to run 20-30 machines for us so that should likely at least triple our output, or more likely quadruple our numbers.
:cool2:

Thanks Keith... we just may need a new stats chart well before next weekend.

You really are excitable Ken; you make me sound like a god; reality is that on a VERY good day I may be able to match your teams total output... but triple, or more .....dream on cowboy!!!!....

I said 20 some CORES not machines...I'll add a few machines as they wind down other projects ....probably be a week or so before I can show any major production here...with winding down and PV Jail and hardware updates in the making ( turning duallies into Quads,,,etc....) :boring:

Anything I can produce on this visit is dedicated to your mom, as she isn't able to whip her computer into submission this week!!!!!

but I expect the rest of the FF@WCG team to step up to the plate and swing like winners as well...call it a challenge if you like...If I'm going to give till it hurts....so are you!!!!

This is NOT a sanctioned BC trek, just me trying to help out ...you or anyone else, as far as I'm concerned, are welcome to kick in if you wish; but you may want to clear it with BigFoot....AGAIN...this has nothing to do with BaseCamp!!!!!!!

EDIT>>> I suppose it could become a trek ...we've done more off the wall things before

If it is to be...I'll leave it up to the Canine to slam a group together and I'll start Stats...LW this is your trial by fire ...just do it!!!...but it is early for a holiday trek and by the end everyone will be exhausted ...6 weeks rest is pushing it for a major impact before the holiday trek!!!

...personal feelings ..I'ld make this a minor volunteer effort and reserve our energies for the Holiday trek...perhaps here

I think for the time being "minor volunteer effort" sounds good.

It doesn't have to be official for a few crunchers to help out if they so choose.

I just came back from helping out B@A and blackheeler just finished helping out my current home team for a bit.

I'm going to offer this as a holiday trek option along with a couple of others for the campers to vote on.

I see the pup has suggested a target as well.

Not so much excitable, rather it's just me trying to be a good cheerleader for the team.   :up2some:

On the cores part, I'll plead Mr Innocent on that one.  :innocent:
Although I've worked on the hardware end of computing and even built a few of my own PC's, my focus has mostly been on the software side of things. Especially so for the past few years that I've been part of the support team at TinyPortal helping to not only do the support, but to also help in developing some of the added modules for the platform.
So, anyways... when you said cores it got translated into PC's! And yes, I do know there is a difference because my current desktop PC is a dual-core but because I normally think in software terms and not hardware the mistake escaped me until you mentioned the difference.
That's when I said, "Doh!"    :bigcheese:

Ps: Thanks for the dedication of the effort to Mom.

Oh you're far from dirty dishwater my friend.

I'm actually in a similar position this week and will have to take one of my quads down for an upgrade but I decided to get a pair of faster SATA2 hard drives on the weekend when it became clear I have to do a clean install anyway so they should be here tomorrow or next day I hope.

Then I have to take this baby apart and give it a heart transplant after which I'll have to put together another box for my son with the CPU I'm pulling out of here.

When done I hope to be able to kick some tushy.
