Facebook Will Block Ad Blockers

Facebook is fighting back against the ad blockers.

Facebook plans to begin bypassing ad blocking tools and show ads on desktop computers even if people have installed software to prevent them.

Nice.  :(

I do know that it takes revenue to operate sites, but still the ads are irritating.

Yes, there's a big war going on with the ad blockers. Many people are starting to use them now and sites are trying to prevent them. Some sites are going so far as to ban or block the users that use them! Of course, they will do nothing but lose users doing it that way. But I do see the need for the revenue that is generated for the sites...no matter how irritating they are.

Personally, I use blockers and hate the sites that are starting to use the "auto-run" videos. As soon as you get to a site, a video loads and starts running. You have no idea if the video is actually related to (or under the control of) the site in question. And if you do not keep your flash, etc. updated you can be hacked or infected with something.
