I was in Tallahassee, FL attending an advanced school for CPR instructors and we were in class when the event began to happen. The instructor stopped the class and we watched for the rest of the day as the horrible events unfolded.

Because we were a state agency we had access to some live video feeds that were not available on the public TV outlets and so we were able to learn a little about some of the behind the scenes activities. Mind you, it was not a lot more, but some more. Mostly dealing with military aircraft and what they were doing... they were up there, ready to do their thing in a big way if that turned out to be needed.

I had just flown into Illinois the day before. A guy came up to me on the jobsite that I was working at and told me the Pentagon had been bombed. I was like, "What?". Drove back to our house we were staying at and watched the news. I discovered some things that day. In particular, that there are more people that hate Americans than I thought. I was hoping that such an event would have brought the country together. It did, but only for a short moment it seems.

Months later I was hearing all the conspiracy theories. I couldn't beleive that people were saying there was actually no plane that hit the Pentagon. They had all these pictures and stuff showing how there was no plane parts etc. I found out shortly after a friend of mine who's Dad worked at the Pentagon was in a hallway right next to the accident when it happened. He was actually splashed by Jet fuel from the Jet slamming into the building.

Sad day. Many lives lost, but will not be forgotten.

I had just got in from work and saw it on the new. Yes, it was a sad day.
