Talked to Mom a few minutes ago.

Other than feeling weak she says that she is feeling OK.
The Doctors have been running lots of tests, including some on her heart and say that one side may be enlarged and that it may be part of what is causing her kidney and bladder issues. The tests are still ongoing, so we'll just have to wait for a while to see how it all works out for her.
The Dr's are giving Mom some Lasix to help with the kidney/bladder issue.

Just got a call from Brother Russell saying that Mom may be released from the hospital soon, she is responding well to her treatments.

At this point it looks as though she may have to go into a Nursing facility because of the level of care that she needs in her daily routine, I'll try to get more info soon.

Talked to Mom this morning and she is starting to feel much better. Mom's spirits are much improved and she seemed to be very clearheaded and her condition appears to be far better than a couple of days ago.

So far there is no word on when she will be released from the hospital, or which Nursing facility she will be going to.

Mallie sounds even better today and her spirits are good.  :bigthumb:

This evening she will be leaving the hospital and going into the Rheems Nursing and Rehabilitation Center... she thinks it's the Elizabethtown facility, but that's not for sure at this point. I'll try calling them after the lunch hour is over to see it it is the right one.

Sister Yvonne's FIL was in that one some years ago and she and Irvin though highly of that home, so hopefully Mom will have a similar experience.

Mom has made the transfer last evening to the new home:

Rheems Nursing and Rehabilitation Center
141 Heisey Avenue
Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania 17022
(717) 367-1831
Room #104

You can call her on the house phone, just select the #5 (Skilled Nursing Unit) from the phone menu, or you can use her cell phone.
If you use the house phone be sure to ask them to turn up the volume on the handheld/portable unit because when I talked to Mom she could barely hear me and could not see to turn up the volume herself.
If you need her cell number just shoot me a note.

Hi Everyone. This is Yvonne, Mallie's (Grandmother's) daughter. It's been a rough few days. For those of you who would like to talk to Mom for a few minutes. She has the same cell phone number she had when she was in Conestoga View which is 717-419-5899. Her address for cards and letters is : Rheems Nursing & Rehab Center, Skilled Nursing Unit, 155 Broad St., Elizabethtown, PA 17022. Just so you know, she has a bulletin board beside her bed. It's empty! Can you send her a get well card??? I'm sure she would like that.. Here is the report as it stands now on her health. Her kidneys were putting out water and it was going into her bladder but the bladder wasn't releasing it out of her body. Her family doctor had increased her water pills but it did no good that is why she ended up in the emergency room. That caused the fluid buildup which was pressing against her heart on one side. She almost died, would have if the emergency doctors hadn't gotten to her in time. She is well on her way to recovery now. She is in the rehab center to try to get her mobile again. When she arrived there she couldn't even stand up. Occupational therapy was with her this evening while I was there. Mom surprised the therapist by telling her that she had already been out on the porch for over an hour this morning and we enjoyed listening to the birds singing. She said she needed that sunshine and that it gave her strength. Now she is helping to transport herself in and out of the wheelchair and bed, even standing briefly. Things are looking up. The doctors are even managing her pain in her legs better. When I left her this evening she was feeling pretty good. She says she loves all her family and friends and feels a great love for all of you. Take care, love Yvonne
