I like it. Dark themes are not my first choice, but I like the crisp, clean lines.

Administration Center Security
Quote
SMF is great in its flexibility. I couldn't even imagine it without Package Manager, Theme Editor and many other goodies your Administration Center offers.

Unfortunately, if an administrator account is compromised, this automatically means that your forum is in danger as the attacker gets immediate access to your files, database, ...
Since the critical settings are not accessed often, an extra layer of security can be added by explicitly granting access to those areas when they are needed.

After installation, you will find the following line in the end of Settings.php:
Code: [Select]

$enable_admin_security = false;

In order to activate the MOD's functionality you need to edit the file and set the variable to true. A warning in your Administration Center lets you know it is active.

Getting this error when clicking, "Show new replies to your posts." top right of page.  Error log also reflect this, and other similar errors generated by guest.

Database Error

Expression #1 of ORDER BY clause is not in SELECT list, references column 'ourfamil_smf46.t.id_last_msg' which is not in SELECT list; this is incompatible with DISTINCT
File: /home/ourfamil/public_html/FamilyForum/Sources/Recent.php
Line: 1108

Oh, and Steve, I get the same error on your site, https://www.docskillz.com/docs/index.php?action=unreadreplies

Note: It appears that your database may require an upgrade. Your forum's files are currently at version SMF 2.0.17, while your database is at version 2.0.12. The above error might possibly go away if you execute the latest version of upgrade.php.

I don't know what to do about those errors Mick, we'll have to wait to see if Steve has any ideas.

This is a longtime issue with SMF when you upgrade through the admin. I've reported this as well as other people have years ago and we were told to ignore it and the database didn't need an upgrade. I believe it is because the mods are looking for the db version to be current and it isn't. Long ago Unknown (I think) told me to just upload the all of the upgrade files from the large upgrade package along with the .sql files and run upgrade which usually fixes it. However, they screwed up the upgrade.php files and it may or may not work! It's an easy fix and I figured it out myself. I did not click on the replies link so I had no idea but would have eventually found it.

I would have thought someone would be smart enough to fix it if for no other reason than to cut down on support. Ha! Please see these from years ago:

It's unfortunate that SMF has had the issue for all of those years with no fix applied, surely someone on the development staff would have the skills to solve the problem.

I'm no coder but I fixed it myself. LOL And for the ONLY_FULL_GROUP_BY part from sql_mode bit, I've removed that from phpmyadmin about a week ago for another issue I've found.

I'll also add this from vbGamer:

Code: [Select]
To disable  then restart mysql
Add this:

[mysqld]
sql-mode=""

To:
/etc/mysql/my.cnf

Good job!

BTW... you may not consider yourself a coder, but methinks you be pretty darn close!  :hah!:

Thanks! LOL Well, I used to be kinda good at BASIC, dBase and a few others long ago so I do understand it. Applying it is another issue altogether. LMAO

Been learning a lot very quickly playing with CZ themes, tho.
