OMG! These are a bit crisp on the outside and like soft little pillows on the inside! I just got finished making a batch and they are SO, SO good! You don't need anything on or in them!!!

I did use European style butter because of it's high fat content and extra buttery goodness!!!  :drool:

You need to get Kerry Gold, Plugra, or Land O' Lakes European style butter to make them extra special. For 2 sticks they cost the same as 4 sticks of quality American butter but are really worth the extra cost!!! European style butters have a higher fat content and therefore a richer taste.
