Christopher leaving for the Navy
« on: November 15, 2009, 06:47:32 PM »
G=Pa Ken and I had a party for Christopher last night. All went well. No rowdy teenagers at all. We were very surprised about that .......All went well and I think everyone enjoyed it. I will miss Chris as he is a very good kid. Big boy now, nineteen years old and he has set his sites on the Navy now for the past few months. He tested out very high with whatever those scores are for that test he took. They made him wait all these months, until his job that he will be doing, came up.He went into some IT communications or something. Too technical for G-Ma Kay.I almost lost it last night when he hugged me and made me promise to cook him his favorite meal when he got home from boot camp in March. I waited until he left before I cried. Then I cried again this morning. I'm crying now. His parents have done a good job with him. He has never been in any trouble. He is a serious minded person. Big guy. Tower's over poor old Gram. He really wants to be a Doctor, but we will see what the Navy does to his career choice. I can't wait for my first letter from him........Mindi can't talk about it today, as she will lose it.He wants to travel, so I guess this will be his opportunity to do so. It is hard to raise kids in this world today, but Joel and Mindi have done a good job with him.He is a great kid and I will miss him so very much......

I wish him the best. Don't worry, he'll be back home before you know it. :)
