... Phil, Ken, Russ
For the past several weeks we have been saddened by Phil's declining health. He has told me that his Doctor's diagnoses was cancer in his lungs and that it had spread to his liver. He also had said that the cancer was very aggressive and that it was terminal. This past Saturday Kay and I visited Phil and we were pleasantly surprised at how well he seemed to be doing, but today Brother Russ called and the news is not very encouraging.
Here are quotes from some of the updates that I've been sending out to Family members:
... starting from the latest.(today)

Me:Hey Family,
Brother Russ has been keeping me updated today and the news is sad to hear. Phil has been taken back to the Hospice care center and his Doctor told Russ that the end is likely to come within just a few hours.
I'll send more news as it comes to me.
Love you... Dad. 4:12 PM

Me:Hey Kids,.. Here's an update on Phil: Yesterday we visited and saw great improvement in Phil's condition. He was able to get around with very little help and he ate an entire hamburger that Russ picked up for him. His mental abilities were greatly improved as well and he was clear and focused for the entire time that we were there... On the Hospice question; turns out that its set up so that he only stays in the Hospice about 5 days a month. And we speculate that he seemed so out of it on the previous visit because the Hospice staff gave Phil plenty of medication to keep him calm and quite. I'll try to keep you informed if any changes come along... Love you… Dad. 10:34 AM

Me:Hey Kids,
We can never tell how things will work out, God gives people amazing strength sometimes so that they can hold on for a long time. Still, when Russ and I visited with Phil on Saturday he seemed much weaker than the week before and from we saw and from what the medical people are saying, sadly, Phil's time seems near.
I've sent a message to Mary to see what plans are in place, so if any of you want to be able to come for a visit or for his funeral we would have some guidance on how to plan.
More detail when I hear more.
Love You... Dad. 12:25 PM

Just received a call from my Brother Russ letting me know that Phil has passed away.
Even though this has been expected for some time now it is, still, sad to hear.
R.I.P. Brother, we Love you and will miss your presents in this life.

So sorry for your loss Ken and family.
Written By Lisa a few years ago.
God saw you getting tired
When a cure was not to be.
So he wrapped his arms
Around you. And whispered
“Come to meâ€
You didn’t deserve what you went through.
So he gave you rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful,
He only takes the best
And when I saw you sleeping,
So peaceful and free from pain
I could not wish you back
To suffer that again
-
I am praying for you and your family to help you get through your grief.
R.I.P., Phil...
