... found this over on WuB.
Butch the "Rooster"

Sarah was in the fertilized egg business. She had several hundred young pullets and ten roosters to fertilize the eggs. She kept records
and any rooster not performing went into the soup pot and was replaced.

This took a lot of time, so she bought some tiny bells and attached them to her roosters. Each bell had a different tone, so she could
tell from a distance which rooster was performing. Now, she could sit on the porch and fill out an efficiency report just by listening to the bells.

Sarah's favourite rooster; old Butch, was a fine specimen but, this morning, she noticed old Butch's bell hadn't rung at all! When she
went to investigate; she saw the other roosters were busy chasing pullets, bells-a-ringing, but the pullets hearing the roosters coming, would run for cover.

To Sarah's amazement; old Butch had his bell in his beak, so it couldn't ring. He'd sneak up on a pullet; do his job, and walk on to
 the next one.

Sarah was so proud of old Butch, she entered him in a show and he became an overnight sensation among the judges.

The result was the judges not only awarded old Butch the "No Bell Piece Prize", they also awarded him the "Pulletsurprise" as well.

Clearly old Butch was a politician in the making. Who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most coveted awards
on the planet by being the best at sneaking up on the unsuspecting populace and screwing them when they weren't paying attention?

Vote carefully in the next election: You can't always hear the bells.

... actually, this may be more real than we think! :o

I love my Instant Pot Pressure Cooker! It's awesome! Once you get used to using it you'll use it a lot.

That's the brand that Kay has, it's the larger one. Don't remember the qt size, but it can take a whole chicken plus veggies, or whatever else you want to put in.

That sounds good.

Kay's B-Day was on the 13th and for a present she wanted a pressure cooker, so we got her one. Now she is starting to try various meals that can benefit from this type of cooking. It sure helps to make meats come out much more tender.

The last meal was Swiss Steak with lots of veggies and a sauce made with whole tomatoes that was a little like a spaghetti sauce, but thinner. It was served over a bed of rice, cooked separately, and the meal turned out great.

Me loves rice topped with sauted veggies and some meat.

I came up with a new recipe. :) Sometimes, I di a rice pilf which you can add various ingredients in it. This time, I sauteed diced onions and diced ham and added it to the pilf along with some chicken broth (instead of water) and for seasonings I added 1/2 a packet or taco seasoning. Boy! It tastes great! The taco seasoning is just slightly strong so next time I may add only 1/3 of it but was definitely a great addition! I just wish I had added some beans...maybe next time I'll add some pigeon peas.

It's supposed to been some here tomonight turning into snow and maybe a little slush but no more than 1 inch or so they say. It's been up to the 40's and sometimes the 50's during the day for the past several days so me's not complaining. :)

Rain, Rain... over and over and then all over again!!!   :censored:

Seems like it has been going on just about forever, yes I do know that's not really true, but Kay and me have enjoyed this weather for about as much as we can stand.

Here's a fun factoid though, our local TV station, WXII-12, will wait about one-two weeks after the weather clears and the rain stops and then they will start talking about our upcoming drought conditions!
... not much of an exaggeration there, they always do that, year after year.  :P

Maybe we needs to move to the Sahara!  laughing7
