UPDATE: Changing hosting companys for our site.
« on: April 05, 2007, 06:43:42 PM »
From the beginning of our family web site it has been hosted by the 1and1.com company and we've always been satisfied with the service until the last 4-5 months. We have had lots of different issues these last months including being off line for several days at one point.

Lately it's been 'failure to connect to the database' errors with as many as 100+ errors in one day and most days running from 20-30 errors and then about 4 days ago we lost the use of out 'FrontPage Extensions' and that means that I am unable to edit the site as normal. So... enough is enough and I've just started an order for a new server on a new host.

You should not notice anything as the site transfer takes place and everything should appear as normal whenever you log in, but you know that things do happen sometimes so please try later if you can't get on right away.

Thanks... gpa

Making the Server Change Today!
« Reply #1 on: April 12, 2007, 05:02:41 PM »
We've received the following communication from our new server company:

Your domain transfer was successful, it's status is now "Completing...".
I can do the transfer for you, tomorrow evening at 9:30 PM, CDT. It'll take around 20 minutes to 40 minutes. During this time, I'll put your forum into maintenance mode, so that no one posts in the meantime.

The transfer is set for tonight.
Soo... if you try to connect late this evening and fine the FamilyForum off line you'll know why.  :disted:

A Really Big Mess following the server move!
« Reply #3 on: April 15, 2007, 03:21:48 PM »
Looks like we've lost some of our posts, some of the themes are not right plus there's other missing or broken stuff.

The server move has caused lots of problems and it will take some time for me to get it all back together.

Thanks for your patience... gpa

We continue to experience various issues related to the server change!

Currently the theme system is out of sync causing features from several different themes to be mixed together... looks kind of odd to say the least.
I hope to have everything back to normal within a few days, but we will just have to wait and see how it goes.

Thanks for your patience... gpa

More and more features are turned back on as the days go by!

Today the Gallery links were repaired as well as the directory paths for the themes... it's all starting to look a little better now.  :yahoo:

Enjoy... gpa
